As a general rule, United States citizens that are Puerto Rico residents are not subject to Federal Income Taxation, however, this is only on their Puerto Rico source income and subject to certain requirements. This seminar looks into the general cases where United States citizens that are Puerto Rico residents will be subject to Federal Income Taxation. Also, it will provide an overview that allow for the exclusion of Puerto Rico source income for Federal Income Tax purposes for those individuals.
After this seminar you should:
(1) have a general knowledge of why PR residents can exclude PR source income from federal income taxation,
(2) and overview of general situations in which PR residents will be subject to federal income taxation, this includes: self-employment taxes, investments that generate US source income, foreign income, among others.
